Judging
With the exceptions of Armor, all other categories of competing models will be judged according to the rules of the International Plastic Modeler Society (IPMS). For more information on these rules, visit:
Armor Judging –ARMOR MODELERS READ THIS!
Modelers in the Armor category do not compete against each other, as they do in other categories at NordicCon. Armor models are judged on criteria developed by the Amor Modeling and Preservation Society (AMPS) and written feedback is provided by trained judges to help the modeler improve his/her skills.Medals in the Armor category are awarded based on the accomplishments of the modeler at his or her skill level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. It is possible for any and all entrants to receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal based on how well they meet the criteria for their skill level.Because of the time necessary to adequately judge and provide helpful feedback to the modeler, ONLY ONE ARMOR MODEL WILL BE JUDGED PER MODELER. Armor modelers must select only one of their entries for judging when completing their registration at the door; the remaining models will be displayed on the show tables under the appropriate categories marked by table signs. The model that is judged will be placed on the show table in the appropriate category after it is judged. For more information on AMPS judging and criteria, visit:
